Volunteer Spotlight: Rebecca

Becky volunteers in our charity shop and sorting room. Here she tells us more about her experience volunteering at Emmanuel House…

“I wanted to understand more about the issues of homelessness as it is obviously an issue for the city. I wanted to feel I was doing something to help. Emmanuel House is a positive, holistic version of support – it’s nice to see so much support under one roof. Volunteering gives me the chance to get out from being stuck behind a computer in my paid job, meeting new people, interacting with others in the shop. It gives me a sense that I’m doing my bit. It is also a route to know more people in the local area and it is fun. If you are thinking of volunteering, it is very flexible so there should be a way to make it work for you. Come down and join us!”
