Our Nottingham charity shop is a vital part of Emmanuel House and is stocked with clothing donated by members of the general public. Staffed entirely by volunteers, the shop provides an income for the charity that is essential to maintaining support services.

Charity shop donations
- Accessories – non-pierced jewellery, belts, handbags, hats & scarves
- Fashionable clothing
- Interesting items
- Musical instruments
- Ornaments & gifts
- Shoes (especially trainers)
- Sleeping bags
- Socks (new or secondhand)
- Underwear (new only)
Please note we can’t accept the following items: furniture, bedding, household linen or curtains, bric-a-brac, crockery, glassware or kitchenware, audio-books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl, 18 certificates, counterfeit or homemade films and music, children’s safety equipment (car seats, harnesses, carriers or high chairs), protective headgear or clothing, dentures, jewellery for pierced body parts, opened/used cosmetics or toiletries, fur or ivory items in any guise, gas/oil appliances, batteries, gas ovens, medication or solvents, nightwear, upholstered items that don’t have the relevant safety labels, weapons, toy weapons, blades or objects that could be used as weapons.
We also are unable to accept large quantities of donations at any one time, such as house clearances.

Our Nottingham charity shop is staffed entirely by volunteers so all money made from the sale of stock goes directly to supporting homeless, vulnerable and isolated adults in Nottingham.

- To assist with the daily running of the charity shop, serving customers, handling and reconciling cash
- Sorting and preparing donations
- Welcoming customers, encouraging the use of hand sanitiser and the one-way system
- Serving customers
- Preparing stock
- Organising and tidying stock
- Attending to the organising of the shop between customer sales
- Handling cash transactions
- Recording sales
Available shift times: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm.
Entitlements: Reasonable travel costs are reimbursed.
