Volunteer Spotlight: Carole

Carole works part time for the NHS which gives her time to volunteer in the EH Charity shop. Here’s what she said about volunteering at Emmanuel House.

“I really enjoy listening to everyone’s story and knowing we are all working together, to help and support vulnerable people. Surprisingly for me (as not very arty) I enjoy dressing the window and serving customers, encouraging them to expand their wardrobe with pre-loved items. I especially enjoy sweeping the floor inside and outside! It’s good to chat with everyone outside the centre and welcome customers into the shop. Everyone is so friendly and though lives are tough we all come together to support each another.

When I am not volunteering/working I keep fit by Nordic pole walking in the park and yoga (obviously not at the same time).I follow LFC even though I can never get a ticket and I love trying to expand my mind with the arts. Please ask me any questions and or come into the shop for a chat, we welcome one and all.”
