We’re happy to announce that Nottingham Building Society has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling homelessness by extending its partnership with Emmanuel House!
Nottingham Building Society has been a partner of Emmanuel House for the past three years, over which time the mortgages and savings mutual has provided £200,000 of funding to help our Support Centre and accommodation projects. Alongside this support, staff members from the Building Society have taken part in numerous volunteering sessions over the years, doing everything from cleaning and decorating the Winter Shelter to serving beans on toast in the Support Centre. Last Christmas, colleagues from multiple different branches took part in fundraising activities, resulting in a £3,600 donation for Emmanuel House and other homelessness charities.
Sue Hayes, Chief Executive of Nottingham Building Society, and Izzy Harriss, CEO of Emmanuel house, at The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire’s ‘Celebrating Philanthropy’ event, hosted by Forever Notts, where Sue announced the extension of the partnership.
In addition to Emmanuel House, Nottingham Building Society are also supporting the national homelessness charity Shelter, and ThinkForward, a charity that empowers young people to gain experience and skills to broaden their opportunities for work and further education. This year, Nottingham Building Society will donate £130,000 to support these chosen charities.
