Mindful bread making!

Last week Julie ‘the bread witch’ visited Emmanuel House to deliver one of her ‘Eat Bake Sing’ bread baking activities.

Our beneficiaries enjoyed learning about the soothing art of bread baking, getting stuck in and making their own loaves as well as having plenty of time for a few taste tests!

“It helped to take my mind off things and focus on something nice…”

With different seeds and flour to choose from the group got to make something truly unique and of their own design.  The participants said that they really enjoyed learning something new, getting to spend time with different people.  Many people said it was relaxing soothing environment, especially as it was a small group of people.

“It was the right amount of people, not too overwhelming…”

The activity was facilitated by members of the Wellbeing Support Team and would not have been possible without the The Big Lottery Fund.  The participants agreed that they would love the opportunity to try this and more baking activities again, especially as it showed how simple and inexpensive cooking can be.

“It was nice to eat together as a group and feel proud of what we have made!”
