Virtual fundraising: Left Lion magazine donates online shop profits to Emmanuel House

Stuck for virtual fundraising ideas during the coronavirus lockdown? In our new blog post series, we’ve taken inspiration from our very own supporters and have got a few new ideas to help you get creative and support Emmanuel House.

We’re saying a big thank you to our friends at Left Lion magazine who donated two weeks’ worth of profit from their online shop sales to Emmanuel House.

During the lockdown, they encouraged their readers to order exclusive Left Lion products and gave us all the profits. They raised almost £300 in just under 2 weeks.

They sold 24 copies of their ‘Overheard in Notts’ book in just one day, which is a collation of quotes taken from their iconic column. They also sold their ‘The First 100 Covers’ book, which showcases the magazine covers from Issue 1 to 100 and the DVD of their award-winning documentary about Nottingham-born AC Milan founder Herbert Kilpin.

Donations like these enable us to provide diverse and accessible services that meet basic needs and empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives without prejudice or judgement. We’re incredibly grateful to all our supporters who continue to help us and cannot thank them enough.

If you’re a business that would like to help but aren’t able to make a financial donation, donating profits of stock is a brilliant way to support us. One local artist recently sold her artwork online and kindly donated the profits.

Don’t forget to let us know about your own fundraising efforts as we’d love to hear about them. Tag us on social media on FacebookInstagram or Twitter or send us an email at rosie.needhamsmith@emmanuelhouse.org.uk.
