Four donation boxes arrive at Nottingham CityCare to collect clothes for Emmanuel House
We’re delighted to be partnering with our friends at Nottingham CityCare, the award-winning community health services provider. Cardboard donation boxes have been installed at four of CityCare’s offices across Nottingham, which will encourage its staff members to donate unwanted clothes to Emmanuel House.
CityCare wanted to work with a local charity to collect, donate and repurpose clothing from its staff. The donation boxes will enable staff members to bring their second-hand clothes to work and know that they’ll be safely donated to a charity that needs them.
The donated clothes, shoes and accessories will be dropped off at Emmanuel House and given to people who are homeless, or sold in our on-site charity shop to raise vital funds for the organisation.
One of CityCare’s vital services is the ‘Homeless Health Team’ (HHT), which provides healthcare for those who are street homeless or vulnerably housed in hostels or supported accommodation.
The team provides treatment, advice and support to help patients stay as healthy as possible.
The HHT has been working in partnership with Emmanuel House for over 15 years. Before the pandemic, they offered drop-in appointments at our support centre. We continue to work with the HHT on a case-by-case basis.
