We first met Martin* in January when he was rough sleeping on the streets of Nottingham. He had been sofa surfing as a result of a relationship breakdown and felt like he was running out of options. He slept rough for a few nights until he was found by the Street Outreach Team, who referred him to our Winter Shelter.

Update to Emmanuel House’s Winter Shelter

We’ve added 10 extra beds to our Winter Shelter provision, due to the increasing number of referrals and demand for the service. This means we’re currently providing short-term emergency accommodation for 40 people every night. Since we opened in October 2023, we’ve provided 2880 nights’ accommodation for 123 people.
