“All the staff in Emmanuel House are absolutely amazing. In the past two years I’ve got to know all of them and I don’t think there is any member of staff that I don’t feel comfortable speaking to and not being able to come and share my issues. They have been a God send for someone like me and every time I’ve had a crisis, which have been a quite few times in the past two years, they have just been phenomenal in the last few years, you come here and they make you believe that you are worthy, you are in need, there is help for you and I just love each and every member of staff here and I can’t thank them for what they have done for me and they have done so much for me.”

Caroline
“Well before Emmanuel House my mental health was really low, I needed help from somewhere but at the time I was in denial and saying that I was okay ‘I’ll be fine’, but really, I was frightened to go out on my own. Emmanuel House is amazing, it’s the first place I will go to for help. I feel like it’s a breath of fresh air and I just beam in confidence when I am here. Because everybody knows and understands what I have been through, because if Emmanuel house wasn’t here, I’d dread to think where I’d be right now, I probably wouldn’t be alive to be honest. Every member of staff here is an angel so I really appreciate what they have done for me.
“Them giving me the opportunity to volunteer at the shop has given me a new lease of life and it’s built my confidence and I feel a lot better for it.”

Umar*
“I’ve been homeless for about a month now. It’s uncomfortable, cold, painful. There is no one to look forward to other than to seek shelter, from the noise, the rain, the cold. I am very tired all the time. It can be scary yeah. I have been trying to get accommodation but unfortunately, I have been on the waiting list for over a month now and it has been really, really, difficult.”
