Nottingham Light Night is back on Friday 6 February and Saturday 7 February 2026. The event aims to bring innovative, interactive, and engaging installations, performances, and activities to Nottingham city centre after dark.

Emmanuel House’s Drama Group are proud to present “A Midwinter’s night’s Beam” on Friday 6th February. This short performance is a spoof Shakespeare play inspired by ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ but without the relationship stuff. It is about a guy (The Human) who goes on a drive out to Sherwood Forest one night, because his noisy family are driving him up the wall and he needs to ground himself in Nature. Upon pulling up in his car, he is filled with wonder at the appearance of Aurora Borealis above the trees and is lured into Sherwood Forest, only to lose his way and all hope in the woods. He then finds four fairies (guardians of love, light, warmth and wisdom) who help him to find the light within, which eventually guides him on his way back home (or at least back to his car!).
