For week nine of the Womanuel sessions, the women decided it was time for a pamper session! Seven beneficiaries and three staff members attended to enjoy nail art and makeovers. The women helped each other pick out colours and paint each others nails and our local make up expert, Caroline, helped the ladies try new make up styles. All of this was enjoyed with refreshments of tea, cake and biscuits, of course!
This afternoon session gave the women an opportunity to discuss what had been done in previous weeks and future aspirations for sessions. It was a relaxing and friendly afternoon. Womanuel members also discussed what activity they would like to do next and have agreed that a quiz would be a fun for next week.
The Womanuel project ran initially for six weeks and was facilitated by Nottingham-based external creative agency, Nonsuch. Following a recent successful application to the National Lottery Awards for All, the sessions will again be facilitated by Nonsuch for 15 weeks in the Autumn. During the summer, the group will continue to meet for a programme of sessions, as decided and lead by the group members assistant by Emmanuel House Support Workers. The sessions are designed to encourage social interaction and offer a relaxed environment in which to express and explore different areas of interest.
