For week five of the Womanuel project, service users, facilitators and staff built on the previous week’s topic of positivity. Now in their fifth week, it is great to see the group grow in confidence and service users are beginning to feel comfortable with the structure and content of the sessions.
As in the past, the session started with a series of games to get everyone warmed up and relaxed. They played ‘keepy-uppy’ with balloons (and got to 92 passes!), passed the balloons without using their hands and tried a few drama activities exploring speech, diction and accents.
During week four, each member of the group looked through magazines for images and words that inspired them or that they related to. In this session, the group then used the ripped out magazine pictures to create a huge collage that will hang in Emmanuel House.
The Womanuel project will run for six weeks and is facilitated by Nottingham-based external creative agency, Nonsuch. The sessions are designed to encourage social interaction and offer a relaxed environment in which to express and explore different areas of interest.
