Following its launch at the beginning of June, Womanuel had a very successful second session last week. A group of ten women, including participants, facilitators from Nonsuch and two Wellbeing Support Team members, had a relaxed and sociable gathering to discuss and reflect on their previous week.
For this, they headed to KK Tea House up the road from the Support Centre on Goosegate to decorate cakes and enjoy a pot of tea or two. The cake decorating, which had a competitive side, saw the group decorate numerous cakes with numerous themes. These were then judged by the owner with points awarded for creativity, individuality and general presentation
Following their first session, participants were asked to think about women who inspired them and why. These inspiring women were then discussed whilst decorating the cakes and used as a topic for self reflection.
When talking about the Womanuel sessions so far, one participant said ‘I’m really enjoying coming to the sessions, it’s great to have something new to focus on’.
A big thank you to KK Tea House for letting Womanuel use your tea shop and for keeping the tea flowing!
