Last week was the 10th session of Womanuel, Emmanuel House’s Women’s group. To celebrate entering double figures, the group hosted the first annual Womanuel quiz. There were three rounds including General Knowledge, ‘The Eyes Have It’ Picture round in which the women had to name the famous person and finally the Anagrams round where UK cities had been jumbled up. After the prizes had been given out we moved on to a round of Pictionary and then hang man. Over tea and cake the women reminisced about old sweets and sweet shops they used to visit.
The Womanuel project ran initially for six weeks and was facilitated by Nottingham-based external creative agency, Nonsuch. Following a recent successful application to the National Lottery Awards for All, the sessions will again be facilitated by Nonsuch for 15 weeks in the Autumn. During the summer, the group will continue to meet for a programme of sessions, as decided and lead by the group members assisted by Emmanuel House Support Workers. The sessions are designed to encourage social interaction and offer a relaxed environment in which to express and explore different areas of interest.
