Volunteers are essential to the running of Emmanuel House. A large number of volunteers work alongside staff in a caring environment, and without them Emmanuel House would not be able to provide this very necessary service to homeless and vulnerable people.
We try to make volunteering at Emmanuel House as rewarding as possible. We welcome enthusiastic and compassionate people who would like to volunteer, and we appreciate every person who does. It is a chance to make friends of all ages, all walks of life, learn new skills, and do something different. Volunteering is also a massive opportunity to do good, giving you a sense of purpose and fulfilment in the process, whilst having fun and making new friends at the same time! An additional benefit can be that you learn new skills and your commitment and time looks great on your CV and can increase your job prospects enormously.
New volunteer role – Charity Shop Manager
We are developing our charity shop and it is well on the way to becoming a vibrant and attractive store. Our ambition is to have the shop open from 9.30am to 6.00pm each day and to have teams of three volunteers for each session.
We are a looking to recruit a Volunteer Shop Manager. If you’re interested in helping to run this vital revenue stream, and contribute to our work with homeless and vulnerable people we would love to hear from you.
