Nottinghamshire Victim CARE is the commissioned service to support victims of crime, anti-social behaviour and hate incidents. They provide free and confidential support, aimed to assist a victim in recovering from their experience, and to reduce the possibility of re-victimisation. They also offer a restorative justice opportunity, allowing victims to engage in communication with the offender responsible for their crime. Their caseworkers are trained as ‘Friends against Scams’ through National Trading Standards, and in situational crime prevention awareness. They are also able to offer advice with regard to online security.
Each victim is treated as an individual, with a support package in line with their individual needs. There is no need for victims to have reported the incident to the police to be able to access the service.
Victim CARE is working in partnership with Emmanuel House to make the support accessible to all. Emmanuel House is one of their community points, meaning that people can access their service through the staff here. Furthermore they will be undertaking monthly drop-in sessions here to raise awareness with regard to what is on offer, and provide appropriate support.
Victim CARE can be contacted between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and between 9am and 5pm on Saturday. Contact number is 0800 3047575. Alternatively you can email them at email@example.com.
